SearchLeeds 2019 – Agendas, changes, and delivering an event for over 2000 people
Since the first event in 2016, the SearchLeeds team have worked to make sure that on the day we’re able to offer a seamless experience for our speakers, sponsors and delegates.
Year on year the biggest challenge we face however, is how to improve the event. This year we think we’ve come up with a few things that will make the day just that little bit better than previous years.
The Fourth Stage
Turns out three isn’t a crowd after all. This year, we’ve expanded the stages to add a fourth stage for the first time. This means that there will be a whopping 48 talks happening across the day, with topics such as “The business value of SEO”, “ How science can help you have better ideas” and “How to make fake news for links” there’s a huge variety of talks that we feel would be beneficial for marketers working across the whole marketing mix -meaning convincing your boss to let you attend just got easier. The full agenda can be found here.
Women in Digital Stage
Its no secret that the search sector is, for the most part more male than female in its gender split. As conference organisers we are acutely aware of the lack of female speakers, mainly because the applications we get for people to speak are predominantly male, year on year. That’s why this year we’ve introduced the Women in Digital stage to celebrate the women within our sector. This stage will be made up of three panels within which speakers of all genders, will take to the stage. We have three core themes for these discussions which are, Balance, Confidence and The Industry – these themes will be outlined in more detail over on the Edit website.
The SEO Bullsh*t Battle
SEO is not an exact science, and tactics to deliver the best results for your brands or clients, are hotly debated, particularly on Twitter. We wanted to bring this debate into the real world, and invite SEOs to take to the stage to defend their SEO beliefs with one another. Audience participation is encouraged, the more involved in debate the better!
The best of the rest
With a stage that has seen the likes of Elton John and Michael Buble, we do our best to make sure that SearchLeeds doesn’t fall short. Our AV company deliver a light show to rival that of the usual superstars who grace the first direct arena stage, and its not to be missed.
Free tea and coffee if of course a must, our sponsors at Search Laboratory have made sure that our delegates will be fully caffeinated throughout the day, so no excuse for sleeping on the job. Fancy something stronger? From 1pm Deep Crawl will be serving free beers from their stand, first come first serve – these are sure to be popular.
For those of you looking to unwind post event, join us in the after-party bar from 5pm for drinks and networking.
